Japan 2nd trip 7th day, Sep 23rd Morning, Furano-Biei Norokko train

Furano-Biei Norokko is a sight-seeing train running on Furano Line, central Hokkaido. This train is famous for its route through many lavender fields during summer time.

It takes approximately 70 min. via Biei, links major tourist attractions in the area. Running parallel to Rt.273, Furano Line offers wonderful window views of rolling hills and fields.

The train runs 3 times a day, and goes slowly at 30km/h.

The seats on one side of the train can be rotated to face the outside, so that passengers are able to enjoy the scenery.

A mini bar is also available in case you are thirsty

It was really refreshing to see farms, mountains, and lots of greenery along the route, as compared to the buildings that usually appear beside us when we’re taking the MRT in Singapore (that is, when the train is not in a tunnel).
